Painting: Robin Slow
A premiere live performance of the music created for the Ngā Hau Ngākau collaborative exhibition, showing at The Suter Art Gallery between August and October.
The music serves as an accompaniment to a video collage of images from the exhibition. In doing so, it leads the listener inside the paintings and carvings, alluding to stories of old, revealing new layers of experience. It moves between the visual dimensions, touching on stories from the paintings and carvings and inferring new connections to be explored.
This live performance features waiata sung by Ariana Tikao and Holly Tikao-Weir, and taonga pūoro performance by Bob Bickerton and Solomon Rahui. The performance will conclude with a question and answer session with all the artists.
The Ngā Hau Ngākau exhibition features paintings by Robin Slow, carvings by Brian Flintoff and video production by Bob Bickerton.Book Now!
